Senior Pastor―John Soucy
I was raised in a devote Roman Catholic home in Maine and, for most of my pre-adult life, loved church. I entered the USCG on January 1, 1968. While attending training in Governor's Island, NY I drifted away from the Lord I had loved for so many years because I felt I would never be good enough to be welcomed into the Kingdom. A few years later, after hearing the truth of the Cross, I surrendered my life to Jesus as both Savior and Lord, found a Bible preaching Advent Christian Church in Auburn, Maine and my journey began.
In 1980, at 30 years old my wife and I sold our home in Auburn and moved to Pittsfield, MA with our 3 children, so I could attend Berkshire Christian College. In 1992 I began studies at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and graduated with an MAR in 1999.
I love teaching God's Word and meeting His people, especially learning about how God uses His servants in everyday situations. In addition, my favorite book is "Grace Abounding To The Chief of Sinners," by John Bunyan.
I am probably the least pushy pastor you'll ever meet. I would love to get to know you more, but I also realize that everyone is more busy than ever, so I will need you to ask me to come visit when it is convenient for YOU, and I will do my best to make it happen!
